Hello and welcome! I’m Nikki Perrier, a California native happily planted in Charlottesville, Virginia.
I was born and raised in sunny Southern California, and in 2011 I moved across the country to attend the University of Virginia. I graduated from UVA in December 2014 with a double major in Media Studies & Religious Studies, and hope to pursue a career in communications in higher education or non-profit settings.
I currently work in communications at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture at the University of Virginia, a research institute and intellectual community devoted to pursuing scholarship that advances human flourishing. In September 2015 I began the Trinity Fellows Program, a leadership development and training program for recent college graduates hosted by Trinity Presbyterian Church in Charlottesville, VA.
I’m fascinated by the convergence of faith, media, and culture, topics I was able to explore through my studies at UVA and am continuing to explore through my work at the Institute. Professionally, I hope to use words and images and design to help people and organizations tell their stories and share their ideas with the world.
I love listening to people’s stories and hearing about what matters to them. I’m a big fan of going on walks, making things with my hands, exploring nature, discovering new music, making food with and for people, and being outside. Favorite things: avocado, sunsets of any kind and anywhere, reclaimed wood, gourmet ice cream, well-crafted words, mellow music, coffee shops & stationery stores.
I also take photos. Drop me a line through my contact page if you are interested in working together in the future!
